ALABAMA'S NEW REMOTE NOTARIZATION LAW
You asked and we heard you! Back by popular demand is Michelle L. Riley to inform us about Alabama's New Remote Notarization Law.
Many of you are already familiar with Ms. Riley, but for the rest- here's some background on our speaker:
Michelle became an Alabama notary in 2005. Shortly thereafter, she started a mobile notary business in Madison County, and eventually in
Jefferson County. In 2013, concerned about the lack of state-specific training in Alabama, Michelle hosted notary networking meetings in Birmingham which evolved
into formal training classes. In November 2013, Alabama celebrated its first National Notary Public Day, with the help of the Office of Secretary of State.
In 2014, the National Notary Association recognized Michelle’s efforts by naming her one of its Notary of the Year Honorees. She was also appointed
as an NNA Notary Ambassador® , a designation she still holds today. Michelle is the sole proprietor of Notaries for Alabama, an organization that
helps ordinary citizens become extraordinary notaries by equipping them with training, notary supplies, surety bonds and insurance.
Michelle earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Alabama at Huntsville. She’s currently employed as a
Consumer Market Sales Representative for Aflac Insurance.
