Join us as we learn from Keri New, Founder and President of Alabama Cold Case Advocacy.  In this CLE, you will be exposed to:

  1. The procedural, evidentiary, and ethical challenges that arise in the review of unsolved criminal cases, and recognize how paralegals can contribute to case organization, documentation, and accuracy in cold case work. 
  2. Public records laws, open-source intelligence (OSINT) methods, and case management techniques to assist law enforcement, prosecutors, and advocacy organizations in re-evaluating inactive investigations, 
  3. The importance of professional boundaries, confidentiality, and trauma-informed communication when collaborating with victims' families and agencies, ensuring advocacy efforts remain both ethical and effective.
